Driving along yesterday and M who is 5yrs was having a shouting match over a fairy doll with Z who is 18months. Im the sort of person who needs to concentrate when I drive. Well actually the driving bit is fine… its the driving in the right direction that seems to consume every brain cell I have at my disposal.
There I was stressing over whether I was going in the right direction and the guys yelling at the back. Frustrated I yelled out, “You know, I really want to be in a family that looks after each other not one that snatches and yells at one another!”
M did not even pause for thought – she said, “well you’d better get rid of us kids and you’ll need to get a new wife as well!” The ensuing laughter from both of us even got Z giggling hysterically…
So after much consideration Ive decided to stick with the family Ive got. Imperfect, passionate, crazy, rough around the edges and fun… suits me just fine. ![]()

I have a son that would be a perfect match for a future son-in-law LOL
LOL That’s hilarious!
TOO funny!
Reminds me of the Calvin and Hobbes strip where Calvin’s tracking his Dad’s popularity in the “polls” and every time his Dad gets grumpy Calvin threatens him with it.
Ha! I think you made the right choice.
I’m so glad you’re back!
Well, if you change your mind, I know a good family like that.
Can’t remember the name…. it’s on the tip of my tongue…
something with a B. Bundy? no. Bindy? nope. Brandy? Breedy? something like that…
