My Pantry is Offended

It seems that the discussion with the Weston Price crew from my last post is still going…
If you missed it, in summary they feel that im a well intentioned but misguided (bordering on irresponsible) parent to be providing processed food and/ or sugar based food to my children when they request it, particularly keeping such stuff in my (now much maligned) pantry. Of course I do not do their arguments justice and you should follow the link below to Joanne’s site for more.
As for me – Im fine with such food on occasion in a context of us providing organic, nutrious food in general and allowing our children to make their own choices and achieving a balance within themselves (with our guidance bla bla bla bla).
While Im still committed to our unschooling approach for our family, I for one came away from the discussion with some great recipes and a renewed focus on creating nutritious food which can only be good…
So a sincere thank you to those who contributed and for the Weston Price bods in particular for taking the time to express their views.
Unfortunately my pantry is seeking legal action for the slurs against it. I tried to talk it out of such brash action but you know these pantries… bloody head strong creatures! Specially when they’ve got chips in their bellies.
Anyway – please do not hold back! Read the rich discussion so far and add your own opinion here. Im thinking of getting them bound… if it keeps going at this rate maybe into a monthly magazine ![]()

I reckon your pantry has every right to be cross. I hope you got the slanderer’s IP addresses so you can pass them on to your pantry’s legal team
Some of us Weston Price bods have really enjoyed the conversation too. Thank you all for being so patient, as some of the crew go a little mad when you mention the words sugar or un-saturated fat. Especially in the same sentence.
Pass on by best wishes to your pantry Arun, I hope it is not too bent out of shape about all of this. Have you thought about trying some of your radical unschool philosophies and techniques to try and calm your pantry down? Then again it could just be a lack of saturated fat in the cupboard, try filling it with raw butter and cod-liver oil and see if that helps with the rigidity.
Hi,
I came here to read a bit of your stuff cuz my wife referenced you on her blog and you left a comment there. (www.zombieprincess.blogspot.com)
Wow!
Your pantry can come visit my pantry (we’re in the U. S.) any time it wants to feel wholesome. And those people who ragged on you… if they crossed my threshold, they’d probably instantly fall down dead from the accumulated “poisonous” refined-sugar vapors in the air in our house.
I enjoy your writing and I’m gonna peruse some of your other posts while I finish my Twinkie and Coca-cola snack!
