I secretly suspect that Eleanor Sparks is infact about six people.
If you have not come accross her yet – she is one of the most high profile proponents of homeschooling in Australia, she is a homeschool mum of five kids, she publishes Australia’s main homeschool magazine Education Choices and she is the key organiser of the upcoming Australian Homeschool Conferences.
Her latest pod cast included interviews with homeschooling Dads (including me) about working from home options that allow us to be home more than the traditional “bread winner Dads”. You can download the show and subscribe to her podcast here. One of the other dads interviewed was David, who with his family are one of our favourite (kayaking mad) unschooling families and have been a great influence on us
If you are in Australia and curious about homeschooling please visit the Homeschool Conference Site. We will be attending the Brisbane one… so maybe meet you there?
We are excited about these first ever Australian Homeschooling Conferences which are quite broad in nature. I must admit we also still have our eyes on some of the US Unschooling conferences. We are currently plotting & planning how to be at the US Live & Learn Conference in 2008…

Here we are going to the 2007 Live and Learn Conference, thereby missing meeting you again. Same venue different year. Sigh, someday…
