Just posted the article “Five Reasons not to say ‘Good Job’”. It might be familiar to those of you on egroups as it has done the rounds. In it Alfie Kohn summarises some of his basic arguments against praise and his case for unconditional love. His book Unconditional Parenting is great and is on my “too review” list.

Hi Arun,
I love everything you’ve shared here and relate to almost all of it. Parenting is such a challenging, stimulating, confusing and absolutely beautiful gift and it’s so lovely to share in it with some like minded people.
Thanks for sharing your journey. I’ve been blogging for a while now too and it really is helpful. As a writer (well, a wanna be one anyway LOL) it is so cleansing to get thoughts down on paper and watch the process from one page to the next.
Happy living!
