Just finished the book review of Rue Kream’s Parenting a Free Child: An Unschooled Life.
It is a fantastic book which as you can see from the review I highly recommend to anyone curious about or doing radical unschooling. At times extremely challenging it will surely leave you forming strong opinions either way.
Other books I intend to review eventually include:
- unconditional parenting by alfie kohn
- non violent communication by marshall rosenburg
- parent effectiveness training by thomas gordon
- aware baby by aletha solter
- dumbing us down by john taylor gatto
well thats to get me started anyway!!
I sound like a book freak right? Fact is I read a lot because this stuff is not “instinctive” or natural to me. These and other books have been crucial in me beginning to transform myself into the parent/ person I want to be. While I know this comes easily for many, for me it has been/ is a very, very conscious process.
